A Typical Morning at Our Play-Based Preschool in Cochrane
At The Circle of Curious Minds, we offer one of the most creative preschool programs in Cochrane, where each day follows a gentle rhythm that thoughtfully balances structure with flexibility. To begin the day, at 8:30 AM – Arrival & Exploration Stations, children are welcomed with warmth and encouragement into a space designed for imaginative and experiential learning. From the moment they arrive, they engage in open-ended play by choosing from art, building, books, or quiet exploration. This early transition supports our philosophy as a hands-on preschool in Cochrane, allowing children to follow their curiosity at their own pace.
Next, at 9:00 AM – Greeting Circle, we gather as a community to greet one another, sing songs, read stories, and talk about the day ahead. During this time, children strengthen communication skills, build emotional connections, and develop a sense of belonging. In addition, early literacy and numeracy are naturally supported through songs, stories, and shared conversations, which are key components of our early learning programs in Cochrane.
Following the circle, 9:30 AM – Snack Time offers a moment to slow down and connect. At this point, children enjoy a healthy snack while practicing independence, table manners, and mindfulness in a social setting. After snack, at 10:00 AM – Transition and Outdoor Gear, children begin preparing for outdoor play. Soon after, at 10:15 AM – Outdoor Play & Nature Walks, children engage in meaningful preschool nature activities in Cochrane. Finally, at 11:00 AM – Exploration Stations & Transition, children ease into the end of the morning by revisiting exploration stations. This calm closing period allows time for reflection, connection, and gentle transitions as children prepare to return home or continue into another program.
